Garden Villas in popular demand
The Morning Bulletin - May 23 2016
Gated living and a low-maintenance home life is rapidly becoming the sought-after lifestyle in the Rockhampton region.
Which would explain why four of the Garden Villas set to be constructed on Ann St, Rockhampton, are already on hold and set to go under contract four months before the construction of the 14 colonial villas.
Pat O’Driscoll Project marketer Leanne Fenech said the vacant block of land at the rear of the Botanic Gardens had recently been demolished in preparation for the construction phase.
“In late January we demolished the site and the houses on that block have now been removed,” she said.
“We’re hoping to start construction in about three to four months.
“In total now we have four villas on hold waiting to go to contract which will be in the next few months so there’s definitely a niche market for this kind of living.”
Ms Fenech said the gated living and low maintenance lifestyle was becoming very popular in the region amongst a range of different home buyers.
“The last development, Savon Villas, was fully sold out prior to construction being finished and because that was so successful we developed these Ann St ones because there’s obviously a big demand in the market,” she said.
“People like the product, the low-set exclusive living on Southside and the gated, secure feel is the biggest thing we’re finding as a drawcard, plus the location close to the botanical gardens and hospital. “This style of living can suit first-time homebuyers, middle-aged people, country people who might want a town house, retirees, anyone.”
